2019 is Here - Happy New Year!

Updated: Jan 13

Happy 2019! I hope you have had a chance to rest, relax and rejuvenate as well as catch up with family and friends. We have an exciting year ahead to accomplish much with new programs every month, planning for our Spring luncheon and topping off our year with the awarding of Scholarships. I ask all members to assist with your time, talents and support to help us accomplish these goals. We ended our 85th year (1933-2018) of the College Club, with our festive Holiday party and support of the Tiny Time Fund.

Many thanks to all who helped plan, set-up, clean-up and brought food and drink for the holiday party; everything was delicious, and all were good sports playing Holiday guessing games; Snowman around the globe and holiday trivia, and the puzzle challenge. In addition, we enjoyed meeting a few new people, some of our members brought friends, Hopefully, in the New Year, we can invite our friends to come to our speaker programs and even become members to further support our mission.

I look forward to kick-off planning for this year’s Spring Luncheon Fundraiser on April 28th at our new venue, the Galloping Hill County Club Golf Course with our guest speaker, local Scotch Plains author Carolyn Quinn who wrote “Mama Rose's Turn: The True Story of America's Most Notorious Stage Mother”; it is not too early to start asking friends to SAVE the DATE, start prepping a basket or providing an item for the Silent auction. We need everyone to pitch in to make this event a success! We will have the 50/50 raffle and ShopRite Gift card ($500).

I look forward to seeing you all on January 28th (General Meeting) at the Fanwood Presbyterian Church to hear about “Mindful Eating”. Please arrive early for snacks so we can start the program at 7:30 pm. Remember to invite a friend or neighbor to come; it is always great to have a full house for the speaker.
